Employee Trade Period Configuration
Merlot app allows a user to have the option to automatically turn on Trip Trade upon publication or restrict trades to a specific date and time based on roster period. The latter is controlled by Employee Trade Period and user preferences in Configure.
Step-by-step guide:
In Configure >> Go to Employee>> Select Employee Trades >>Click Employee Trade Period
In the Request/Trade Period Profile make sure it is set to <<Add New>>
Add the desired employee trade profile name in the “Edit Profile Name” field
Click Save and or Add to add the trade period time preference

| Start Date | is the start date of the roster period |
| End Date | is the end date of the roster period |
| Open Date | controls the opening of the trade |
| Close Date | controls the closing of the trade |
In below example, the trade period from Jan 1-31,2020 is only allowed between 01Dec20 @1700 to 15Dec20 @2359. Then, the trade period will open again on 0115Jan @1700 for Feb 1-15 roster period.
Note: User has the option to create different trade profiles for each Crew Department.
In below example, the Pilots have different Trade Period with Flight Attendants
After Trade Period Configuration, configure the User preferences
Go to User >> User Preferences
Ensure that the following User Preferences are updated :

Note: If user wants to completely disallow employees from trading through the portal, the user preference ‘’ turnOffSwaps” must be set to True.
