AircraftSchedule

Under construction

AircraftSchedule is part of the merlot suite of planning applications. AircraftSchedule improves the development of flight schedules, meeting the needs of airlines for increased efficiency in scheduling while ensuring operational integrity. The application includes a maintenance planning capability.

In AircraftSchedule, system users either import a Standard Schedules Information Manual (SSIM) or create a new schedule. Once all the flights are in the schedule, the schedule is marked active and is ready for next stage development of pairings in CrewBuild.

AircraftSchedule Audience

AircraftSchedule system users are airline employees who work as flight schedulers and flight planners at scheduled airlines. AircraftSchedule users are actively involved in the process of schedule planning; either creating and/or importing flight schedules for a specified time period.

AircraftSchedule Prerequisites

Prior to undertaking tasks in AircraftSchedule, it is first necessary to define the route structure in the Configure application. In addition, Configure is where equipment types, equipment registration and turnaround times are defined as well as ports and on time performance (OTP) parameters. See the Configure User Manual for more information.

Logging into AircraftSchedule

With your merlot.aero credentials simply log in and select AircraftSchedule.

The Graphical User Interface (GUI)

The merlot.aero suite of applications eliminates the use of text commands by employing a Graphical User Interface (GUI).   Let’s explore the AircraftSchedule GUI:

The following features of the GUI are available only after a schedule has been created:

  1. Tool Bar: Contains application icons that give you access to commonly used AircraftSchedule functions.

  2. Filters Panel: Sets the criteria to find flight instances from within the flight schedule in the Schedule Display Panel.

  3. Schedule Display Panel: Display the schedule where you can view, add and edit flight instance schedules, either in grid or Gantt view, and tests schedule alternatives in the PlayPen with an option to save the changes.

  4. Application Footer:  A non-interactive bar at the bottom of the Schedule Display Panel which contains information relating to open schedule data in the Schedule Display Panel.

  5. Routes: A link to the Route feature to find, add and delete routes.
